How Long Do NFC Business Cards Last?

Premium NFC business cards that share everything about you instantly. No app. No friction. Just tap.

NFC business cards are designed to outlast paper cards significantly. Here is what you can expect from a quality NFC card in terms of physical durability and chip longevity.

Physical Durability

Tappio cards are made from rigid PVC, the same material used in bank cards and credit cards. This material is waterproof, does not tear or crease, and maintains its shape under normal daily use. A PVC card carried in a wallet will look and feel new for years.

NFC Chip Lifespan

The NFC chip embedded in the card is rated for hundreds of thousands of read cycles. Even if your card is tapped multiple times per day, you are unlikely to exceed the chip's operational limit within any reasonable timeframe.

What Can Damage the Card

Extreme heat can affect the card material, similar to how it would affect a bank card. Avoid leaving it in a car on a hot day for extended periods. Deep scratches or gouges through the card can potentially damage the antenna.

The Bottom Line

A Tappio NFC card should last three to five years under normal professional use. You are buying a long-term networking tool, not a consumable.
