What's Better for Networking: NFC Cards, QR Codes, or Apps?

Premium NFC business cards that share everything about you instantly. No app. No friction. Just tap.

Three technologies, three different experiences. Here is how they stack up for professional networking.

Digital Business Card Apps

Apps require you to have your phone unlocked and the app open to share your card. This introduces friction on your side. In a fast-moving networking environment, fumbling for an app is less smooth than handing over a physical object.

QR Code Only Cards

A QR code card works on virtually every smartphone and is more reliable than NFC in terms of universal compatibility. The downside is the interaction. Scanning feels more transactional and less impressive than a tap.

NFC Cards

NFC cards require the least action from the receiving person. They hold their phone near the card and the profile opens. No app, no scanning, no pointing a camera.

The Verdict

NFC with a QR code backup is the strongest combination. It delivers the best experience for the majority of users and has a fallback for everyone else. Tappio cards include both by default.
